SmartLink VCI is the latest diagnostic module from LAUNCH Company. It can be used with most LAUNCH diagnostic tools and supports Bluetooth, WiFi, USB and other communication methods. This article will introduce how to use SmartLink VCI's WiFi connection.
Note: WiFi network latency is higher than that of wired network, and its anti-interference performance is worse. Therefore, it is recommended that users give priority to using wired network connection when doing remote diagnosis, especially online programming.
First, connect SmartLink to the power supply (connect to the vehicle OBD diagnostic port), and click [Settings]---[WLAN] in the upper right corner of the SmartLink interface.
Click [WLAN] and select WiFi connection, enter the WIFI name and WIFI password (if the WIFI password is not set, it can be ignored. The WIFI name is case-sensitive, please make sure it is consistent with the connected WIFI name), and then click [Connect]. Please note that SmartLink only supports 5G WiFi signals, not 2.4G signals.
If the WIFI connection is successful, click the button [Connected successfully, return to homepage] at the bottom of the interface to return to the homepage, and the device will automatically prompt whether to switch to super remote diagnostic mode. If you need the assistance of a remote technician to diagnose, please select YES; if you just perform the diagnosis yourself, please select NO
If you need to switch to other WiFi hotspots after successfully connecting to WiFi, you need to restart the device and reconnect.
